Recently, Girls in Tech NYC hosted their 3rd annual Juneteenth event, which focused on the theme of “Discovering Our Roots.” This empowering gathering centered around the experiences of Black women in the tech industry, shedding light on their triumphs, challenges, and the importance of psychological safety in the workplace. The event not only provided valuable insights for Black women navigating the tech world, but also served as a source of inspiration for allies and women from all walks of life.
1. Embracing Identity and Overcoming Challenges
The panel discussion at the Juneteenth event delved deep into what it means to be a Black woman in tech. The panelists shared their personal journeys, highlighting the unique hurdles they have faced and the triumphs they have achieved.
